Megan Kelsey Vredenburg, 44, of Glastonbury, CT passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017. She was born April 24, 1972 in Metairie, Louisiana, the daughter of Charles and Carol (Beucher) Kelsey.
Megan grew up in central Florida riding horses and playing tennis. She graduated from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN with the class of 1994 and subsequently earned her MBA from Syracuse University in 1998. On July 16, 1994, she was united in marriage to Paul Vredenburg. She dedicated her life to supporting her three beautiful children, Sophie (16), Luke (14), and Greer (11). Megan relished her role as mom to her kids who filled her with life, love and joy. While she always enjoyed traveling and seeing new things, after her cancer diagnosis in June of 2011, she made it her mission to create memories and explore the world with her family. After moving to Glastonbury, Megan rediscovered her love for tennis and especially horses. Her favorite days were filled with riding her horses, Norman and Secret, followed by an evening enjoying time with her family. She loved to see her kids play sports and perform in shows, but when the schedule slowed down, they would spend hours together playing games and watching favorite TV shows and movies. Megan enjoyed walking her dogs, Coco and Gryffin, chatting with friends, and knew the words to every 70’s song ever written. Everything she did, she did with tenacity and those who were privileged to be in her life were blessed.
In addition to her husband, her children, and her parents, Megan is survived by her sister Erin (Kelsey) Dunn and husband Tim, her brother Kevin Kelsey and wife Monica, and cherished nieces and nephews Maggie (God-daughter), Julia, Aidan, Nick, Cooper (God-son), Grady, and Blake.
