Thomas R. Teraila

Thomas Richard Teraila, 88, of South Glastonbury passed away February 6, 2018.  He was the beloved husband of Joyce (Varni) Teraila.  Born May 28, 1929 in Hartford to the late Alphonsus and Veronica Teraila.  He was predeceased by brothers Al Teraila, Bernard Teraila, Joseph Teraila, Carroll Teraila and sisters Genevieve Teraila, Agnes McKone and Patricia Croteau. Tom was proud of his 47 years of work at Stanadyne manufacturing innovative diesel fuel pumps.  He was an enthusiastic flower and vegetable gardener and nurtured a variety of trees.  Among his interests were hiking, nature, wood carving, road trips, cars, science, maple sugaring, history and reading.  Early in the 1950”s Tom served in Germany and France constructing bridges. He leaves behind his daughters Karen (Teraila) Connelly and her husband Jimmie, Linda (Teraila) Fabri and her husband, Kevin.  His grandchildren Christina Connelly, Katelyn Fabri and Sara Fabri; and many nieces and nephews.   Sisters-in-law Gladys Dubicki, Joyce M. Teraila and brother in law Robert Varni and his wife, Betty. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 10:30 am in St Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Rd, South Glastonbury.  Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery.  Family and friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Friday February 9, 2018 from 3-5 pm. Tom was a parishioner at St. Augustine’s in So.
