Obituary of Walter L. Lamoureux, Jr.

Walter L. Lamoureux, Jr., 92, of Glastonbury, formerly of Naples, FL and East Hartford, beloved and faithful husband of 65 years to Concetta “Connie” (Federico) Lamoureux, died Friday June 10, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. Born November 26, 1923 in Hartford, son of the late Walter L., Sr. and Hildur (Johnson) Lamoureux he had lived in Glastonbury for the past three years. Prior to his retirement he owned and operated the Modern TV service company in Manchester. Walter was a past member of the Army-Navy Club in Manchester and had served in the US Navy during World War II. He was stationed on the USS Franklin aircraft carrier as radio man and gunner in Torpedo Squadron 13 and Bomber Group 13 and proudly fought for his country in many major battles in the South Pacific earning him the Air Medal and various other awards and citations. Besides his devoted wife who was always at his side taking care of him during his illness, he is survived by his three sons, John P. Lamoureux of Westfield, MA, Paul D. Lamoureux and his significant other Sandra Bouchard of Hartford, and Walter D. Lamoureux and his wife Carolyn of Glastonbury. He adored his two grandchildren David M. Lamoureux and Corrine A. Bikakis, her husband George and their daughter Evangelia A. Bikakis and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
