Obituary of Nancy Lukens Etienne

Nancy Lukens Etienne of Glastonbury, passed away on Thursday June 16, 2016 at the age of 62. Beloved wife of Ray, mother of her now grown “little boy” Ryan, and sister Pat Lukens. Cousin and sister by heart of Danny and Cindy Etienne. Nancy also leaves cherished nieces Jody Hoffman of Aberdeen, SD, Melanie Bradish of NYC, Kristie Bourdoulous of South Glastonbury, and Nichole Collins of South Glastonbury, and 12 great nieces and nephews, Sam, Emily, Hannah, Brianna, Gabriella, Levi, Grace, Mabel, Chloe, Nick, Jacob and Aiden. Nancy was passionate about the beach and her most loyal retriever, Thatcher. She grew up on the beaches of Cape Cod and spent much of her time at Black Point on the Connecticut shore. She graduated from Hartford Hospital School of nursing in 1975 and began a staff nursing job at Hartford Hospital soon after. By 1980 she was Head Nurse in charge of the Pediatric floor at Hartford Hospital. Nancy has been known to the pediatric transplant teams across the country as “mission control” for the transplanted children at CCMC. Her career spanned 40 years, during most of which she was the liver transplant coordinator at CCMC. Funeral service will be held Wednesday June 22 at 10am in the Congregational Church of South Glastonbury (corner on Main and High Sts). Burial will follow in Green Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Tuesday June 21 from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Joey Rogers Fund, c/o CT.
