Obituary of Rachel L. Love

Rachel L. Love, 94, of Glastonbury, died September 20, 2016 peacefully with family at her side at McLean Home in Simsbury, CT. Rachel was born December 21, 1921 in Putnam, CT, eldest daughter of the late Treffle and Elizabeth Lapierre. She was predeceased by her loving husband Edmund J. Love in 2006, her parents, and her sister, Cecile Porter. While growing up in Webster, MA, Rachel attended Bartlett H.S. and was actively involved in Girl Scouts, achieving the level of Golden Eaglet. Rachel was employed for many years at Glastonbury Bank and Trust and was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church. Her family, church, knitting, and the UConn Huskies Women’s basketball team were her passions. Rachel is survived by her five children and their spouses: Christine and Gregory Pac of Somers, Ret. Colonel Francis and June Love of San Antonio, TX, Elizabeth and Robert Fusick of North Granby, Robert Love and Julie Krespan of Germantown, MD, Anita and Mark Hill of Colchester, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, her sister Lorraine Janton, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of McLean Healthcare for all of their help and support. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 24, at 10:15a.m. from the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave. Glastonbury, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m. in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St, Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury.
