Obituary of Roseanne Charpentier Talbot

Roseanne (Charpentier) Talbot , 71, of Glastonbury, CT., loving wife of Ronald H. Talbot for 52 years, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. Born March 15, 1945 in Valparaiso, Indiana, the 2nd of 9 children, she was the eldest daughter of Raymond and Rosemary (LaBrecque) Charpentier. As a child, she lived in Danvers, MA with the family moving back to Valparaiso when her father became ill. She worked during her teen years as a Secretary at Valparaiso Technical School and as a Car Hop at Hannon’s, graduating Valparaiso High School in 1962 with an Award as “Best Secretarial Student”. Roseanne then attended Indiana University in Bloomington for 2 years before marrying Ron. Over the next 7 years, she went to school nights at Indiana University, Gary, IN, Westfield (MA) State College and finally earned her degree from Salem (MA) State Teachers College all the while starting and caring for her family as they moved several times. Over the years, Roseanne raised 6 children in Danvers and Wilbraham, MA, the last 39 years in Glastonbury. Her home was a focal point for the neighboring children. She was an openly religious Catholic, a daily Communicant at St, Dunstan’s Church in Glastonbury, and was strongly Pro Life, opening her home to several young women. She found time to run, play tennis and bridge and worked for five years supervising the back office at Hartford Computer Exchange, Inc. in Glastonbury. Besides her husband, Roseanne is survived by three brothers, Joel Charpentier of Chesterton, IN,, Tom Charpentier and his wife, Kathy, of Kouts, IN., Paul Charpentier of Valparaiso, IN; 2 sisters, Diane O’Connor and her husband Mike of Valparaiso; and Denise Talbot (brothers married to Sisters) and her husband Bob of Danvers, MA.. She also is survived by sons, Matthew of Glastonbury; Scott and his wife, Anne, of Glastonbury; Jason and his wife, Kerrie, of Glastonbury; daughters Dianna Wilson and her husband, Rich, of Glastonbury, and Monica Kerkes and her husband, Kevin, of Stratford, CT. Also left behind are 14 wonderful, talented grandchildren Ashley, Michael, Shannon, Veronika, Richard, Christopher, Karissa, Ronnie, Lucy, Brendan, Ryan, Priscilla, Stephen and Jason, as well as two special great-grandchildren, Jacob and Farrah. In addition, she leaves behind two very special and beloved people: Her mother-in-law, Dorothy Talbot of Danvers, MA, and her long-time, companion and caretaker, Grace Stathowacz of Middletown, CT. Roseanne was pre-deceased by her father, Raymond, and mother, Rosemary; and brothers Gerard and Richard; a sister, Marie, and her greatly- grieved daughter, Jessica Anne, who is honored by a Memorial Tree on the Glastonbury Town Green. Calling Hours are Sunday, Jan. 22, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Jan 23, at 10 a.m. in Saint Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Rd, Glastonbury. Burial will follow in the Family Plot at Holy Cross Cemetery on Hebron Avenue in Glastonbury. Memorial donations may be made in Roseanne’s name, to “Hermines Home For The Destitute,” in care of Father Norbert Thomas of Tamilnadu, India.
