Obituary of Dorothy Pelletier Repoli

Dorothy E. (Pelletier) Repoli, 86, of Glastonbury, beloved wife of 63 years of the late Francis N. Repoli, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2017 at the Jerome Home in New Britain. Born in Hartford, October 28, 1930, to the late Wilfred and Alice (La Pointe) Pelletier, she grew up in Hartford and East Hartford. Dorothy married Francis in 1950 and they moved to Newington where they raised their family. Dorothy dedicated her life to caring for her family and enjoyed time spent with her Tremont Street neighbors and friends. She learned how to cook Italian food and bake from her mother-in-law and learned so well that many people thought that she was Italian! Dot was extremely talented and taught herself how to sew, knit, crochet, and decorate wedding cakes, all of which was done out of love for her family and friends. She and Frank were members of Indian Hill Country Club and enjoyed a mutual love of golf. They went on many golf vacations, cruises and spent many winters in Florida. Her greatest joy was spending time with her large family. Dorothy’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Jerome Home and Jonas. She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Dennis F. and Pamela of South Glastonbury, Anne M. Nyman and Kurt of South Glastonbury, Daniel N. and Mary Ann of Glastonbury, Douglas C. of East Hampton and David J. of Tenafly, NJ. She also leaves 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Wilfred and Donald Pelletier. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 18, at 11 AM, in St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Rd., South Glastonbury. Burial will be in Neipsic Cemetery in the spring. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Glastonbury Volunteer Ambulance Association, PO Box 453, Glastonbury, CT 06033.
