Victor B. Grabowicz, a Windsor resident for 53 years, tranquilly passed on April 2nd, 2017. He was born during a blizzard in Suffield, CT on February 9, 1931 to Wicenty and Jadwiga (Grzesik) Grabowicz. Victor proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. In 1958, he and Marianne (Tricka) married at St. Augustine Church in South Glastonbury. Prior to his retirement in 1996, Victor was employed as a jet engine mechanic with Pratt and Whitney Aircraft. Victor was a communicant of St. Gabriel Church. Being the son of a farmer, Vic loved to garden, for it was instilled into him as a child. Vic’s love for the outdoors included deep sea fishing trips, spontaneous day trips to Lenny and Joe’s and a stroll along the Boardwalk at Hammonassett Beach State Park, and his daily neighborhood walks. Undoubtedly, chocolate, tomatoes, peppers and his love to Polka follow a close second. In addition to Marianne, his wife of 58 years, he is survived by his daughter Elizabeth, son William and his wife Judy; along with his two grandchildren Jessica and Benjamin Grabowicz and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 22nd, at 10 am at St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Road, South Glastonbury. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Gabriel Church, 379 Broad Street, Windsor, CT 06095. For online condolences please visit www.mulryanfh.com .
