Obituary of Rose Ann (Thibault) Saindon
Rose (or “Ann,” or “Roseann” – she was a woman of many names!), passed away on June 20, 2017, in her home in Glastonbury, CT. Her husband, Martin Saindon, called her his wife for 53 years. She was “Mom” to her son Mark and her daughter-in-law Cynthia, who live in Pennington, NJ. Her favorite name of all was “Memere,” which she was lovingly called by her grandchildren Louisa, Corinne and Benjamin. She is also survived by her mother Anita, her siblings Gerard, Patricia, Ted, and Dora, and countless nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Patrick and her brother Real.
Rose was born in Ste. Anne de Madawaska, New Brunswick, Canada. She moved to CT in 1962, and to Glastonbury in 1972, where she has lived ever since. She initially worked for Arrow Heart Corporation, but later spent 26 years with the Glastonbury Public Schools Food Service - most of that time serving students in the Glastonbury High School cafeteria.
Our family would like to thank Eve, Juliette, and all the nurses, aides and others that provided amazing, compassionate care to help her through these last few months. Per her wishes, she will be laid to rest in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be sent in her honor to the LUNGevity Foundation, 228 South Wabash Avenue, Suite 700, Chicago, IL 60604.
