I am the niece of Carol, an old friend of Ellen, and knew her since I was about 10 years old. Then, in High School, she was my gym teacher and cheerleading coach, so I had to remember to call her Miss O'Connor instead of Ellen! She was wonderful at both and I had so much respect and fondness for her!

Thank you Cynde for this beautiful remembrance. What a fun story about knowing her. There was a cheerleading captain who came to the calling hours but I'm sorry I forgot some of the names that came from all her chapters in life. I'm sure she would recall stories about you and your mother. Thank you for the note. Beth

I am so saddened to hear of Ellen’s passing. She was a wonderful and a loyal friend to me for many years. We met back in our younger days doing club work in Southington. I am a hairdresser and she became my most loyal customer even after her move to Marlborough, CT she still had her hair done every week. She was always so interested in my family and developed a special friendship with my youngest son, Ben, while they worked at The Hartford. They were Facebook friends and she always kept up with his growing family. I will never forget her or the wonderful person she was. Vicky Nardi

Thank you Vicky...I know to call you her friend....who happened to also be her hairdresser! She loved writing notes, cards or on Facebook!
