Jorge Eliécer Marimon, 83, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023, with his family at his side, after a hard-fought battle with kidney disease. Jorge joins his beloved wife of 54 years, Zoila, who he missed dearly. He was born in El Carmen de Bolívar, Colombia, S.A., on October 7, 1939 and was the oldest of 5 siblings.
Jorge immigrated to the United States in 1965, settling in Connecticut in 1966 with his wife and children, Carolina and Jorge Luis, where they joined other family and friends in the pursuit of a better life in America.
He was proudly employed as a gunsmith with Colt’s Manufacturing for 38 years before retiring to become a full-time grandfather. He had a garage full of bicycles, as one of his favorite grandpa activities was hosting the grandkids for bike riding during summer vacation, which almost always included a Mr. Softee treat. He will be so missed by his 5 grandchildren who adored him: Tristen, Justin, and Simon Skee, and Ricardo and Lauren Marimon.
