Obituary of Mark Edward Hilliard

Mark Edward Hilliard passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020, at his home in Glastonbury, CT at the age of 49. He was born the son of the late Edward Ray and Jane (Blair) Hilliard on December 10, 1970 in Sewickley, PA. Mark is survived by his two children, Charlotte Jane Hilliard and Logan Edward Hilliard, his younger brother, Matthew and Tanya Hilliard of PA. and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Mark’s competitive drive led him to football at a young age, playing for Aliquippa High School Varsity team and then again for the Semi-Professional Football Team The Connecticut Gamblers at the age of 45. Between his times as an active player he thoroughly enjoyed coaching and developing young players. Mark coached every opportunity afforded to him spending several seasons coaching youth football and High School Teams including Griswold High School and Aliquippa High School – instilling the same love of the game he embodied. Mark served in the United State Air Force as a Communications and Navigation System Journeyman and went on to receive an Electrical Engineering Degree from The University of Pittsburgh. He worked most recently at Pratt & Whitney as a Customer Support Engineer. Active and always on the move Mark spent most of the past sixteen years with his two children - from The Wiggles to Panic at the Disco concerts, through Steelers games and sport practices and competitions up to high school tournaments – you could always find him on the sideline cheering, coaching, encouraging and motivating. Mark loved his family, his friends, his dog, good music and good times. A private memorial service will be held on Tuesday June 30, 2020.
