Obituary of Audrey J. Kowarsky

Audrey J. Kowarsky, of Waterbury, CT. died on January 19, 2021.  She was the daughter of Kay (Carol Feldman) Hill of South Glastonbury, CT and the late David J. Kowarsky of Longmeadow, Mass. She was born on September 19, 1959 in Petersburg, VA.  She is survived by her beloved partner, Tom Bliss of Waterbury, CT. and Deltona, FL., her father’s significant other, Kamla Chawla, of Longmeadow, MA., her good friend Dave Rossi of Marblehead, MA., and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Sawyer of Groton, CT. and her good friend from Longmeadow High School, Linda Renkowitz.  Audrey was a graduate of Longmeadow High School and earned a degree in Computer Science at University of Massachusetts, Amherst.  Clinging to her father on the back seat of a Vespa at a tender age, riding motor bikes with Linda during her teenage years, and as an adult taking Tom for a spin on his sidecar motorcycle are a measure of her adventuresome spirit.  She had many interests, a curious mind and a love of learning which led to her employment in a variety of occupations.  She continued her post college education, earning two-year degrees and certificates in vocations such as Accounting, Web Design and Medical Coding to name a few.  She had a love of cats as does Tom, who will care for them.  Audrey also maintained a keen interest in Japanese cartooning and culture and was an ardent fan of eating Sushi.  Due to COVID restrictions, there will be no calling hours.  A celebration of Audrey’s life will be planned at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
