Obituary of Camille Beck

Camille, affectionately known as “Gramma”, age 81, previously of Glastonbury and Hebron, Connecticut and Ft. Myers, FL passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s on April 24th, 2021.

Camille was born and raised in Rome, NY, daughter of Leonard and Louise Carissimo, and was part of the large and loving Vaccaro family, whom descended from Potenza, Italy. She was predeceased by her first husband Jerald Gloss and their infant daughter Suzanne, and second husband of 48 years, Joseph Beck Jr. Camille was a devoted wife, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She was an avid golfer, reader, card player, knitter as well as the matriarch of the family and had an immense love of baking. No Christmas was ever without the vast selection of homemade cookies, pizzelles and pasticciotti. Camille had a long career supporting high level Hartford executives at companies such as Colt Firearms, Kaman Corporation and her much loved tenure with The Hartford Whalers. She would generate hearty laughter each holiday season from her off-tune delivery of her “Five Golden Rings” line in the family’s annual rendition of the Twelve Days of Christmas.

She is survived by her children, Melissa Rath and husband Howard of Hebron, CT, Lonette Gloss of Hebron, CT, and Joseph Beck III and wife Nicole of Smithfield, RI; her grandchildren Kelsey and husband Aaron, Corey and husband Kevin, Alexandra, Samantha, Aidan, and William; her step-grandchildren Jacob, Macey and Maggie; and her great granddaughter Mackenzie (Corey & Kevin) as well as another great granddaughter (Kelsey & Aaron) due in October. She also leaves behind her sister Paula Borruso and Husband Anthony of Fort Myers, FL, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
