Ralph was Deputy Commissioner of Mental Health when I first met him. I had recently been appointed Regional Director for the New Haven Region. He was the consummate professional and supportive administrator for a newly appointed group of young professionals who were tasked to develop a regional system of care for the mentally ill.
Even after I left state service, Ralph and Lee continued their friendship with the group and for forty plus years, we would meet at least annually for dinner and comradery. Over the last several years, in spite of his and Lee's physical limitations, they would continue to meet me for lunch and talk of old friends and new experiences.
i miss both of them and will always remember them with great respect and admiration.
