

Obituary of Anne S. Fisher
Anne (Sargent) Fisher, of Glastonbury, beloved wife of the late Robert G. Fisher, passed away on February 7, 2025. She was born on May 2, 1941, in Hartford, to the late Howard H. Sargent, Jr. and the late Barbara W. Sargent. Anne graduated from the MacDuffie School in Granby, MA, and attended the University of Minnesota. She worked for many years as a Data Analyst for Travelers Insurance.
Anne and Robert enjoyed genealogy, together exploring their family genealogies. She published an extensive book covering the lineage of her paternal grandmother and papers documenting her mother’s ancestry. Anne’s other hobbies included many pets, gardening, cooking, classical music, volunteering with a Rhode Island hospital, and her Episcopal church.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Anne is predeceased by her brother Howard H Sargent III and her sister Mary Gay Sargent. She is survived by her brother Douglas Sargent and his wife Beth Sargent of Portland. She is also survived by her nephew Christopher Sargent, his wife Laura and their children Daniel, Diego, and Sofia all of El Campello, Spain, her niece Virginia Quinn, Ginny’s husband Shawn and their children Tyler, Brody, and Ryan all of Portland, and nephew Brian Sargent, his wife Daria and their children Noah and Brendan all of Glastonbury.
Anne is also predeceased by her stepson Robert Fisher, Jr. of Zionsville, IN, and stepdaughter Valerie Fisher of Gettysburg, PA. She is survived by stepdaughter Pamela Hitch, husband Terry Hitch, grandchildren Cameron Hitch, fiancé Melanie Fisher and Lindsey Hitch, great grandchild Sage Hitch, all of TX. She is also survived by her stepdaughter-in-law Donna Fisher. Grandchildren Douglas Fisher, wife Amy Fisher and Lauren Hayden, husband Brent Hayden, great-grandchildren Charles Fisher, Robert Fisher, Owen Hayden, and Maxwell Hayden, all of IN. Grandchildren Nathan Bortner, wife Ana Bortner and Seth Bortner, wife Elizabeth Bortner, great-grandchildren Emilia Bortner, Gabriel Bortner, Sophie Bortner, and Kaitlyn Bortner.
