Obituary of Lisa Lynn DiBenedetto
Lisa Lynn DiBenedetto (Nightingale), 38, is and always will be the life of the party. She devoted herself as a daughter, sister, granddaughter, wife, aunt, and great friend. Sadly, for the countless people that love her, Lisa left this life on February 12, 2025.
Born on July 9, 1986, Lisa grew up in Glastonbury, Connecticut. It was clear at an early age that Lisa’s passion was the beauty and magic of a wedding ceremony. As a child, she clipped pictures from magazines of brides, gowns, and fanciful tablescapes. She dreamed of her own magical moments to come.
This passion became her life’s work as a wedding planner. Through grit and determination, she juggled multiple jobs in the early years of her career, making a name for herself while working in the hospitality industry. She was so proud to be the founder and business owner of Nightingale Events. Her work is renowned around the region and beyond. Her weddings and events were stunning and full of joy, because Lisa cared about every little detail.
Lisa used her event planning prowess to create opportunities for community and fundraising. Coming from a family that was impacted by breast cancer, Lisa took every opportunity to raise money for research and to uplift those who had been impacted. She shared her own medical journey of cancer prevention to empower others to take brave steps in their lives.
Behind the events and advocacy was a woman who most loved being home snuggled with her dog, Ruxin. She always made time for lunches with friends, and for family dinners. She checked in on her 94-year-old Grampy every night. She loved being the youngest daughter to her parents, and the baby sister to her two big sisters. She deeply loved her husband and his whole family.
Lisa is survived by her parents, Elaine Papanic-Nightingale and Ronald Nightingale, Jr.; husband of 9 years, Anthony DiBenedetto; two sisters and their spouses, Colleen Nightingale, Valerie Jenkelunas (Nightingale), Mandeep Kumar, and Lindsay Jenkelunas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sal and Effie DiBenedetto; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jason and Stephanie DiBenedetto; brother-in-law Christopher DiBenedetto; grandfather, Larry Papanic; cousins, Christine, Mark, and Noah DiMaggio, and James Hazen Nightingale, Jr.; nieces and nephew, Abigail, Summer, Milo, and Luna; and her beloved dog, Ruxin James. She also leaves behind so many dear friends. Lisa was predeceased by her grandmothers Ruth Papanic and Dorothy Nightingale; grandfather Ronald Nightingale Sr.; and aunt, Annette DaSilva (Nightingale).
