Caroline Hibbert posted a condolence
Thursday, March 6, 2025
I always cherished the time I spent with Grandad in the mornings on trips to Connecticut.
I’ve never been an early riser, even as a kid. But I’d wake up on the earlier side when we stayed at the grandparent’s so I could spend some alone time with Grandad while he ate breakfast and read the paper.
He’d make me toast with lots of butter and often we’d end up talking about the different types of birds visiting the feeder on the deck.
Now that I’m in my 30s I finally understand the appeal of bird-watching. I’ll keep an eye out for some of our favorite birds, Grandad, and maybe a sign from you. Love you.

We will miss and love you forever dad!
I will always remember the time you drive mom and us five girls and our cousins Jeanne and Carol in the Country Squire station wagon from St. Louis to Connecticut, pulling a popup camper.
We camped one night in Pennsylvania then you drove straight through the second night and went immediately to work at Pratt & Whitney the next morning --- guess it was time for a break from the little women folk!
I look back with amazement at your fortitude under duress.
Love, your daughter, Cindy
