Heather Pulito

Obituary of Heather McNab Pulito

Heather McNab Pulito, 74, of Glastonbury, beloved wife, sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Hartford Hospital after a short illness, surrounded by her devoted family.

She was born on May 17, 1950, in New Rochelle, NY, to the late John Alistair and Marilyn (Spear) McNab. After moving to Glastonbury at the age of two, she attended Manchester Community College, followed by Central Connecticut State University.

Heather had a deep love for children and worked for many years as a special education paraprofessional for the Town of Glastonbury Board of Education.

Throughout her life, Heather pursued many interests and especially enjoyed tending to her gardens, both at home and at her island hideaway on Lake Wentworth in Wolfeboro, NH. She was actively involved in numerous organizations and was a lifelong member of the Historical Society of Glastonbury, where she served in various roles, including President. She was also engaged in the Lake Wentworth/Wentworth Watershed Association in Wolfeboro and, closer to home, was an active member and past president of the Glastonbury Junior Women's Club and the Connecticut Junior Women's Club.

Heather was also a member of the Counted Cross-Stitch group and loved sharing her passion for card-making with them, affectionately referred to as the "stamping ladies" by the grandson of their group leader.

Above all, Heather cherished her family. She delighted in attending and hosting gatherings and holiday celebrations, always finding a reason for summer get-togethers at Lake Wentworth with family and friends. She was especially devoted to her grandson “Atty,” who brought her immense joy, particularly after she became ill.

In addition to her loving husband of 54 years, Robert A. Pulito, Heather is survived by her son, Keith Alistair Pulito, and his wife, April, along with their son, Atticus John Pulito, of Westfield, MA. She is also survived by her brother, John Martin McNab, and his wife, Ellen, of Glastonbury; her nieces, Catherine McNab Ghelani and her husband, Paras, and their son, Ishaan, of New York City; and Emily (McNab) Vassor and her husband, Greg, and their sons, Jaylen and Kai, of Glastonbury.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 13, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be held in the spring at Buckingham Congregational Church, 16 Cricket Lane, Glastonbury, CT, on Saturday, May 3rd, at 11:00am. A reception downstairs will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Heather's honor may be made to Buckingham Congregational Church Memorial Fund or the Historical Society of Glastonbury, 1944 Main St., Glastonbury, CT 06033.
