The LaPorte family were our next door neighbors at Groton Long Point, CT, and Mike and Betsy were more like siblings to me. Mike has always called me Sis; and I have very fond memories of their parents George and Marge as well. Mike and I have been very fortunate to be part of a wonderful group of friends at GLP, some who will gather together tomorrow to celebrate his memory. Love you Mike; rest in peace dear friend.

From our days as police officers in Groton, CT, our many trips protecting LCOL Oliver North and his family, and our Louisville - UCONN football rivalry, you were a bother to me, and your son will always be my nephew.
