Obituary of Margaret A. Weber
Margaret A. (Ball) Weber, 75, of Marlborough, CT passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025. She was born in Lynn, MA to Callista “Jane” and Warren O. Ball on April 23, 1949. She was one of six children, including her best friend for her whole life, her brother Donald. Known as Peg to her husband, Peggy to her friends, “Bounce” to her college classmates and Mrs. Weber to countless students, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, teacher, and friend.
In 1970, Peg married Raymond K. Weber Jr., in Groton, CT. Together they weathered the storms of Ray’s Naval career, finished college degrees, raised two sons, and built a loving home in Marlborough. After graduating in 1972 from St. Joseph College in West Hartford, Peggy began her life’s work, teaching in Wethersfield. For over 50 years, she not only taught students, but served on the Connecticut Downs Syndrome Congress, volunteered with Special Olympics, and raised funds to send students to Camp Horizons and Camp Hemlocks. She was recognized as Teacher of the Year in Wethersfield and received the Connecticut Treasures Award. She worked tirelessly to give her students the skills they would need to be their best selves and to strengthen their independence in the community. “Mrs. Weber” was loved by the people of Wethersfield for her work with and dedication to students with special needs.
Peggy loved the beach-from Maine, to the Massachusetts coast, to Cape Cod, to the Gulf Coast of Florida. It was her happy place! When a big trip wasn’t planned, a quick day trip to Niantic or New London was good, too! She loved burgers and chocolate milkshakes, especially at Harry’s Place in Colchester, and Italian food (without Parmesan, please!). She loved the color blue, Hitchcock furniture, traveling, and shopping for clothes and shoes. Above all, she loved Ray, her brothers, her sons and daughters-in-law, and those precious grandchildren. Peggy was selfless and an ardent supporter of all she held dear. She’d be embarrassed to hear the words that people use to describe her: understanding, devoted friend, special and loyal friend, happy, funny, a bundle of blessings, empathetic, smart, dedicated, loving and loved by many.
Besides her husband, Raymond, she is survived by son, Timothy Weber and wife Suzanne and their children Jordan, Andrew and Abigail; son Jeffrey Weber and wife Chelsy and their children Benjamin, Adela and Annalee; brother Donald Ball and wife Vicki; and brother Timothy Ball. Besides her parents, Peggy was predeceased by her brothers Richard, Thomas, and Kenneth Ball.
