Obituary of Bruce Albert
Bruce Albert, 71, of Moodus, Connecticut, passed away peacefully in his home on April 24, 2025.
Born March 13, 1954 in Bridgeport, CT, Bruce spent his life building, fixing, and improving the world around him. A master carpenter and a true jack of all trades, he could literally build a house from the ground up—and he did. Bruce personally built his family’s home by hand on the shores of Moodus Reservoir, a paradise that became the heart of countless family memories. Bruce loved the lake and was the proud owner of the very first pontoon boat to ever cruise its waters—a fitting symbol of his calm, loving spirit. His family will forever remember their sunset cruises, tubing, and skiing, ‘just-because’ scenery tours, and attempts at catching bass on the lake.
Words cannot describe how impossibly extraordinary Bruce was as a son, husband, father, and brother. He was steady, hardworking, endlessly resourceful, and fiercely devoted to his family. He was overly generous and always the first to offer help, whether it meant fixing something that was broken, building something from scratch, or simply showing up and being present when it mattered most. He was truly “Super Bruce”—yet he remained humble, his quiet strength and sense of humor resonating with everyone he encountered.
He is survived by his most beloved wife of forty-four years, Debbie Albert (Moodus, CT); daughter Ashley Stringer, son-in-law Michael and grandson James (Glastonbury, CT); daughter Elyssa Dennin, son-in-law Craig and granddaughter Linnia (Plumstead, PA); and brother Neal Albert and his wife Lan (West Sacramento, CA).
Bruce’s greatest legacy is the family he built and the extraordinary life he crafted—one of love, laughter and commitment. In honor of how Bruce lived his life, help a neighbor, play a round of gin rummy with a friend, spend time with your family, and enjoy a slice of chocolate cake—he will be with you in spirit, always.
