Obituary of James Patrick Charette

Our beloved son, brother, father and friend,  James P.  Charette, 63, of Plainville, passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.   Jim was a loving and creative guy who wrote music and poetry.  He enjoyed playing his guitar, cooking his famous baked beans, potato salad and ploys, spending time walking and hiking, and being with his family and friends. 

Jim was born the youngest child of Gerald and Maxine Charette and grew up in East Hartford.  He attended Penney High School and graduated from Long Island University Post.   He worked as a computer software specialist over the past many years.   

Jim will be so missed by his family and friends.  He leaves his son Jonathan, of Plainville, parents Gerald and Maxine Charette of Rocky Hill, sister Monica Gardner (Bruce) of Glastonbury, sister Deanna (Jeff) of Fallbrook, California and brother David (Kathy) of Stuart, Florida.  He also leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a special friend, Kathy O’Leary and her dog Zoe.
