I have known Barbara since Gideon Welles Jr. High School we shared many classes together as with everyone life separates people although we always stayed semi in touch over the years. The past few years she was my "craft show buddy" we informed each other of shows that we both would be interested in. I called her the early afternoon of our class reunion to ask her if she needed a "ride" to the reunion and that is when I found out the sad news from her sister Sue. Barbara will be missed by many a very kind person with a great sense of humor. I will miss her smile....

Sue and family,
My heart aches. Barbara was such a happy bright light.
May you find peace in knowing that she will be watching over you all from above. God bless.

We moved to Glastonbury in the summer of 1970 and Barbara, and I shared some classes at Gideon Wells Jr High during 8th grade, so we became friends and stayed so for the rest of our lives. We shared many memories and events and places. Life, time and distance took their toll, and we grew apart with less and less contact unfortunately. Am very sad to hear of her passing last Saturday. This is certainly a moment for reflection and remembrance.

Barbara was my oldest friend, each of us attending the other’s birthday parties at 2 years of age. Throughout our school years we saw each other very frequently. We went on many outings with each others family, including visits to our grandparents and other family members. Trips to mountain park, gay city state park, misquamicut beach to name a few. I fished for the first time with her (her dad had to put the work on the hook) and have more memories than I can state. Her Xmas card was always the first one I would receive. I still have a few craft items she made for my kids when they were little. A life taken way too soon, she may now rest in peace. God bless her.

My family lived close to the Kowalsky family on Hopewell Rd. in S.Glastonbury. I and my siblings Karen, Mark, Linda, were friends with the family. I went to school with Ronald, the eldest. I vividly remember Barbara, although at the time she was just a youngster. I and my siblings (Karen, Mark, Linda) wish to send our sincerest condolences to the family. Barbara lived an admirable life. A donation in her honor was made by my family to POA. Roger Emerick
