Jean Louis Fauteux, 85, of Venice, FL formerly of Glastonbury, CT passed away on June 12, 2025, after a long battle with Mesothelioma. Jean was born July 16, 1939, to Eli and Esther (Mongeau) Fauteux, In St. Malo, Quebec, Canada. He leaves his beloved wife of 59 years, Arlene Marie (Boucher) Fauteux, his cherished daughter, Susan Louise (a true daddy’s girl), treasured son, David Brian; sister Yvette Fauteux Houle, Compton, Quebec, Canada. Jean was predeceased by his son, John Joseph, sisters, Anita Fauteux, Elise Fauteux, Julienne Fauteux, and Denise Fauteux Cyr. He also leaves his sisters in law, Theresa Testa of Bristol, Ct; Diane Favreau of Glastonbury; Madelaine Binner of Stevensville, Maryland; and brother-in-law Theophane (Ted) Cyr of Glastonbury, Ct; special nephews, Matthew Breton of Florida, Rejean Houle of Sherbrooke Canada, and special niece Sylvie Truchon of Magog, Canada. Jean came to Hartford, Ct in 1960. He began working construction as a union carpenter and was drafted by the US Army in 1962. He was a Marksman and honorably discharged in April, 1964. Hunting was an annual event with his friends and he always came home with his prey. Jean loved working in the garden in Vermont (summer home), and loved growing tomatoes, rhubarb, zucchini and other vegetables. As long as he was outside, he was happy. Over the years, he renovated 4 homes. He also finished basements for both friends and family. Everyone who met Jean became an instant friend. Jean loved music, rock and roll; mostly country. He was an excellent dancer, sister-in-law, Madelaine can vouch for that. He was a humble, soft spoken, hardworking, God-fearing man who will truly be missed.
