Obituary of Antonio C. Bairos

Antonio Cabral Bairos, age 86, born July 4, 1938, passed away at his home, early morning on June 23, 2025.  He was the son of the late Joao and Virginia Bairos.  Born on the island of Santa Maria, Azores Portugal he came to the United States after serving in the Portuguese Army.

He passed away next to his beloved wife of 62 years Lourdes Loura Bairos.  They have two children, Diane of Wethersfield and John (Christine) of Waterford.  He spent most of his time with his three grandchildren, Elijah "Ace", Christian "CJ" and Brianna.  One week before his death he spent time with his family in California with his brothers Joe (Fernanda), Manuel (Virginia), John (Ann), Alfred (Charlotte), his sisters Mary (Joe, deceased) and Marie (John, deceased).  He had many nieces, nephews and friends who he adored.

When he arrived in the U.S. he lived in California, working on a dairy farm before moving to Connecticut.  He worked at Sealtest/New England Dairies, where he served as Shop Steward for Teamsters Union Local 535 and Guida’s Dairy.  He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and active with the Holy Ghost Portuguese Society, where he also served as President.

Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025 at 12 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Kane Street, Hartford.  Visitation and burial will be private. For online condolences please www.mulryanfh.com.
