Obituary of Shirley Ann Gallup

It is with great sadness the family of Shirley A. Gallup, 96, announce her passing on June 22, 2025 at home with her loving family around her.  She was born in Hartford, Connecticut on October 2, 1928, the daughter of Emile and Jeanette Dumas (Taylor) (Eldridge).  Shirley was predeceased by her husband Donald P. Gallup and her sister, Grace (Eldridge) Prete.  She is survived by her daughter, Jo-Ann L. Kaminsky (Gallup) and her husband David of Schodack, NY, her son Craig E. Gallup and his wife Jane of Dade City, FL, her God Daughter Cindi Spada and her husband Chris of South Glastonbury, CT, Grandchildren Teare (Messino) VanDenburgh (Roberto Rullan) of Lansingburgh, NY,  Kelly (Kaminsky) LaFrance of Beacon Falls, Ct and Tricia (Cerne) Fitzgerald and her husband Michael of Juniper, Florida, and 4 great grandchildren, Bailee, Chantal, Jean III, and Stella, 4 great great grandchildren, Natalie, Maison, Savannah and Skyler.   Shirley also left many nieces and nephews but had a special place in her heart for her two nieces Lee Mooney and Donna Michaud along with her nephews Mike Mooney and Billy Taylor.

Shirley was retired from Cigna Insurance Company and previous to Cigna employed by another company during her career.   She was a long-time member of the Congressional Church of South Glastonbury, CT and active in the Ladies Aid.  She also worked on three different farms in the South Glastonbury area.  In her younger years Shirley was an avid duckpin bowler at Glastonbury Bowl.  Her favorite times consisted of spending time with her family, friends and playing with the grandchildren.

 A Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 1:00 pm in Still Hill Cemetery, 668 Main Street, South Glastonbury, CT.   In lieu of flowers send donations to Castleton Ambulance 1700 Brookview Road, Castleton, NY 12033, or The Community Hospice, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Shirley A.
