Obituary of Cornelia Jeanne Adam

Cornelia “Neila” Jeanne Adam, 83, of Berlin, long-time resident of Glastonbury, beloved wife of Andrew “Andy” M. Adam passed away, peacefully and in the presence of her loving family, on Sunday, July 6, 2025. She was born on June 3, 1942, in New York, NY to Cornelius and Mary (Welsh) Donovan. Known for her exceptional grace, kindness and generosity, Neila's life was characterized by her devotion to her family, her faith, and the idea of "doing unto others". This devotion was exemplified in her love for Andy, her husband of fifty-seven years; her dedication to the seven children they raised together; her commitment to both lifelong and more-recent Faith Group friends; and her career serving others as a Supervising Psychiatric Nurse. Neila's unique ability to make all with whom she interacted feel sincerely loved is both a hallmark of her life ... and a legacy that will no doubt serve as a role model for all. Besides her husband, she is survived by her sister, Mary Moeller, her children, Tori Murray and her husband, Tom of Parkland, FL, Christie Adam of Glastonbury, CT, Suzanne Adam and her husband Bob Kocienda of Stratford CT, Jeffrey Adam and his wife Lauren of Trumbull, CT, Lanisha Adam of Sarasota FL, her grandchildren, Thomas and Madeline Murray, Mairead DeLuca, Andrew and Sarah Adam, Luka Kocienda, Landon, Hunter and Grady Adam and her great grandchild, Lila DeLuca. She was predeceased by her sons Drew Adam and Ben Adam. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 18 at 2pm in Saint Patrick – Saint Anthony Roman Catholic Church, 285 Church St., Hartford. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 17 from 6pm to 8pm at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Saint Patrick-Saint Anthony Church.
