Obituary of Eloise Setzer

Eloise “Ellie” Setzer, 72, of Middletown, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Hartford Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 20, 1953, in San Fernando Valley, California, to the late Donald Wicke and Olga Rose (Piccola) Lovine. Ellie grew up in Hartford, Connecticut, and was a proud graduate of Baltic College.

Ellie was a dedicated professional who worked as a claims adjuster for MetLife until the time of her passing. She lived a quiet life, enjoying photography, shopping, reading poetry, writing poetry, and remembering her beloved late cat, Wyle.

She is survived by her son, Eric Setzer, and his wife, Kim Setzer; her grandchildren, Blanche Setzer and Bodhi Setzer; her sister, Trudi Mary Nalband of Delray Beach, Florida; her nieces, Robin Duclau (and her sons, Christopher Duclau and Zachary Majowitz) and Tracy James (and her husband, Matt James, and their son, Michaal James). She was predeceased by her sister, Donna Estep of Colorado.
