Obituary of Paul J. Cavanna
Paul John Cavanna was born on January 29, 1957, and passed away on September 15, 2025, at the age of 68. He spent his final moments surrounded by his loving family. At the heart of that family was his devoted wife of 41 years, Catherine, whom Paul affectionately called “the best thing that ever happened to him.” Together they built a beautiful life filled with love and laughter. Paul was the proud father of his son, Ken; his twins, John and Elizabeth; and his second set of twins, Andy and Katie. He was also a cherished grandfather to K-Lee, Riley, Megan, Everly, Ellasyn, and Enzo, and a great-grandfather to Brodie. His grandchildren and great-grandchild brought him immeasurable joy.
Paul is predeceased by his father, George Angelo Cavanna; his mother, Ann (Geci) Cavanna; and his brother, Roger Cavanna. He is survived by his brothers, Charles Cavanna and George Cavanna, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
A third-generation farmer, Paul dedicated his life to carrying forward his family’s legacy on land that has been in the Cavanna family for over 120 years. Farming was more than just his livelihood. Paul sacrificed time, sleep, and comfort to build something his family remains proud of. Despite his demanding schedule, Paul never missed an opportunity to lend a helping hand, whether to his family, a fellow farmer, or a friend in need.
Outside of work, Paul was known for his warmth, humor, and unmistakable personality. He was always laughing about something and had a way of lifting spirits wherever he went. He found joy in the simple things—working on equipment, savoring a good loaf of Italian bread, and sharing in the many interests of his children.
Paul’s generosity, unwavering work ethic, and infectious laughter left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He leaves behind not only a devoted family and a thriving farm, but also a legacy of love, hard work, and resilience.
