Obituary of Caryn S. Furbush
Caryn S. Furbush, 72, of East Hartford, loving wife of Raymond Furbush, died on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at home. She was born in Hartford on November 26, 1953 to Anthony and Sue (Dec) Alleva. Caryn was a graphic artist for the State of Connecticut for 38 years, as well as a Girl Scout Leader for her daughter for many years. She was a dreamer, always dreaming about things she wanted to accomplish and places she wanted to go. Caryn loved nature and being outside in her garden, putting together flowers in her hanging baskets, adding to the landscape. She was a meticulous and detailed artist, particularly enjoyed painting and drawing. Besides her husband Raymond, Caryn is survived by her daughter Leslie Magown and her husband, Iain, of Simsbury and her very special granddaughter, Madelyn. She is also survived by her sisters, Lynn Alleva-Bevins (Jim) and Paula Alleva. She was predeceased by her brother, Carmine Alleva. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 15 at 10am in Saint Christopher Church, 536 Brewer St., East Hartford. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 14 from 1pm to 4pm at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury.
