Doris M. (Hodge) Malloy, 94, of Portland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2025 surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold E. Malloy.

Doris was born in Hartford on May 9, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Robert W. and Mary J. (Bisi) Hodge. She grew up in South Glastonbury and devoted her professional life to caring for others as a registered nurse before traveling overseas to raise her family while her husband served in the US Air Force. Doris was a Civil War history enthusiast, enjoyed music ranging from classic country to Pink Floyd, and loved reading and completing crossword puzzles, at which she was a true champion. She was a dedicated volunteer at local animal shelters and opened her home to foster homeless dogs and cats for over 45 years. Doris treasured her many visits to Cape Cod with family and friends. She was blessed with many cherished friendships and will be remembered for her spunk, kindness, curiosity, and love of learning.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Eileen Lastrina and husband Angelo of Portland, her daughter Janet Clausi of Englewood, FL and her son, Patrick Malloy and his wife Janice of Portland. She was affectionately known as “Grandma Dodo” to her ten grandchildren and spouses: Melanie and Eric Hayes, Angelo and Arielle Lastrina, Samantha Clausi, Erin and Chase Brogan, Julie and Jack Reed, Cassandra Malloy Palencia, Patrick and Christina Malloy, Josh and Sara Morehouse, and Jocelyn Morehouse and her fiancé Sebastien Hains. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, with an 18th soon to arrive, all of whom she loved dearly. Doris was predeceased by her beloved grandson, Brendon Lastrina.
