I was fortunate to have George as my roommate while at the FBI Academy. We remained friends over the years. He visited my family in Arizona and we were fortunate to visit he and Marie at their home. RIP my friend. You were a true gentleman.

Dear Marie. I was so saddened to hear of George's passing. George will always hold a special place in my heart, and I feel honored to have met him. He always managed to have a big smile when I came in, even when I knew he really wasn't feeling well. It was obvious how much you loved each other and your patience and understanding was so amazing to see. I'm so sorry I didn't learn of his passing until today. I would have come to his wake if I had known. I will never forget George or you Marie. I will keep you both in my prayers.

Marie and Family,
I retired in '96 from the Wethersfield Police Department and had worked with Glastonbury officers from time to time. Although I didn't know it then, I'm sure I was exposed to the "George White Effect" as I worked alongside committed and friendly fellow officers. Looking back, I wish I had met George White as well as his comrade-in-arms, James Thomas. Just reading about these fine public servants has been inspiring. I did know them vicariously through the Chapmans and through mutual friends, Jay Tilley and Jay Kehoe. Loved what I heard. I'm not surprised that some of George's favorite assignments were youth related.
My wife, Janie and I extend our heartfelt wishes and condolences to you, Marie, and your family in this particularly difficult time. Our loss, Heaven's gain.
With gratitude,
Bob & Janie Fritsch

Marie and family, My deepest condolences on the passing of George. As a graduate of the Enfield High class of1958, I have known George for a long time. As it states here, he was a wonderful person and a gentleman. I enjoyed talking to him at our many class reunions and especially at our special get togethers at Figero's. Keep him close with all your beautiful memories.
Sincerely, Eileen Mercik Longhi

Marie and family,
George was my classmate from 7th grade through high school, and we kept in touch at reunions the Enfield High Class of 1958 over the years. He was a great guy and a good friend and will be missed. I know he has had health issues recently and hope you can find consolation in the fact that he is now at peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of loss.

Marie and Family,
I am truly sorry to hear of your loss. I had the privilege to work and become friends with George when he was with the Glastonbury PD and I was at the Wethersfield PD. Our friendship grew year after year as we worked together to provide a quality program to the youth at the annual Police Explorer Academy. Professionally, I learned so much by watching George interact with law enforcement officers and display his passion to develop these young adults. It was no surprise he became a long tenured Chief of Police as he had the knowledge and experience to deliver quality policing. He made a difference. When it was time for me to lead a police department, George was one of my references as I landed a chief's position in Keller, Texas. I spent 24 years here serving the way George served and mentored me. I would enjoy seeing George and Marie at the IACP Conferences. We would pick up where we left off reminiscing about the old times.
RIP George as you served with passion, integrity and empathy.
Sincerely,
Chief Mark Hafner, Retired
Keller, Texas
