Obituary of Gerald F. St. Marie

Our beloved dad, Gerald F. St Marie, 81, went home to Jesus on January 10th, 2026, after several months of heroic fight against illness. He was born in Hartford, CT on November 11th, 1944 to Gertrude and Leonid St. Marie. After graduating from Holy Trinity High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, specializing in communications and achieving the rank of Sergeant. In1969, Dad entered computer school, eventually working for MCI, Connecticut Mutual, Mass Mutual, and IBM, retiring in 2009. 

Dad married the love of his life, Elaine, in 1969, and they welcomed two children, Aimee and Geoffrey, along with two amazing grandchildren, Jacob and Emma. Dad’s family was his world. He found joy in every moment, from helping to coach baseball teams to attending countless dance recitals, from planning family vacations to cherishing holiday traditions. Dad was also a voracious reader and ardent puzzler as well as a model railroad enthusiast whose HO layout occupied a sizable swath of basement real estate. 

Dad is survived by his wife, Elaine, his children, Aimee and Geoffrey, his grandchildren, Emma and Jacob, his son-in-law, Daniel Viniconis, among many other family and friends. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, January 22nd at 10:00 AM, in St. Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Road, Glastonbury with interment following immediately at Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Calling hours are prior from 8:30am to 9:30am at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury.
