Obituary of Frederick D. Henrikson
Frederick D. Henrikson, 82, of Glastonbury passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Donna (Stanley) Henrikson. Born in Hartford, Fred was the son of the late Carl and Elly (Bloom) Henrikson.
Fred was a lifelong Glastonbury resident, who attended Glastonbury High School and the First Church of Christ where he met his beloved wife through the choir. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Hartford and embarked upon the career of his dreams after passing the CPA exam in one sitting on his first attempt. Fred happily officiated many wedding ceremonies during his years as a Justice of the Peace. He had many passions including piloting his plane around New England, cooking and attending culinary classes, and traveling extensively with family and friends. He and his son loved taking cross country road trips and cheering on their beloved Hartford Whalers. Fred is probably best known for his sharp intellect, quick wit and infectious sense of humor. He appreciated the simple things in life, especially a good bourbon and cigar while relaxing by the koi pond.
In addition to his wife, Fred is survived by his children Beth Kratzert and husband Ben, Laura Hamlin and Chris Henrikson, his grandchildren Sara Greenleaf, Gregory Pancavage, Kyle Hamlin, and his great granddaughter Aurora Pancavage. He was predeceased by his grandson Jacob Hamlin.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 am at the First Church of Christ, 2183 Main St., Glastonbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
