Obituary of Joaquim C. Esteves
Joaquim (Jack) Esteves, 96, of Glastonbury, beloved husband to Hilda Esteves, departed this life as he lived it with strength and dignity on May 7th, 2026. Born in Lagarihos, Portugal on June 22, 1929, he was the son of the late Jose and Tereza (Cunha) Esteves. After arriving in the United States, Jack served honorably in the United States Armed Services and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal when he was honorably discharged. He started his professional life at Royal Typewriter and later Hartford Business Machines as a Technical Products Manager. He loved fishing, boating, and was a devoted Red Sox and UConn basketball fan. Besides his son Michael Esteves and his wife Kathleen of Avon, his daughter-in-law Debra Esteves of North Granby, his two beautiful grandchildren Lisa Esteves and Kristin Glatte, and great granddaughter Rosalie Maheu. He was proceeded by his loving wife Hilda Esteves, his son Raymond Esteves, and his sister Encarnacio Salvador. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all the caregivers who passionately helped care for him over these past four years. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday May 12th, at 11am, at Ss. Isidore and Maria Parish at Saint Paul’s Church, 2577 Main Street, Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
