Service in celebration of Carol's life
Obituary of Carol D. Jackson
Carol Jackson, 95, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at her home in South Glastonbury, surrounded by her family.
Carol was born in Evergreen, Wisconsin into a large, loving family. She and her three sisters remained very close all through their lives. After high school Carol left her small town in Wisconsin for work in the big city of Chicago. There she met and married Milton (Jack) Jackson, the young sailor who would be her husband and best friend for 68 years. Their three children were born during their Navy years as they were stationed in California, Virginia and Boston. After leaving the Navy Carol and Jack moved to South Glastonbury which she always thought was the most beautiful place to live in all the world. She dearly loved her town and her neighbors. Carol and Jack eventually owned and operated Neet Cleaners in Glastonbury for nearly 30 years making many good and lasting friends among their suppliers and clientele.
Outside work Carol and Jack created award-winning song and shore birds which he carved and Carol then painted. In addition to being an avid reader and Christmas cookie baker, perhaps Carol's favorite hobby was crafting. Her personal philosophy was that any craft was improved by the addition of glitter.
Carol enjoyed traveling the country to visit her children, her beloved sisters and many old friends. Devoted to her family and friends, Carol also loved sharing her cottage with them on Plum Island, Mass, another of her favorite places. Carol's love for all animals continued throughout her long life, right down to her last years which were made brighter by her granddog; Puggle, Bruce.
Carol leaves behind to cherish her memory her son; Kevin Jackson, daughter; Jody Lees, her grandchildren; Jennifer Walsh, Harrison Lees and wife Leah Cooper, Nathan Jackson, Rachel Larkin and husband Nathan, Jonathan Jackson, her great-grandsons; Jackson Walsh and Merrick Larkin, her sister-in-law; Dorothy Schulz, as well as many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Milton (Jack) Jackson, her daughter, Kerry Jackson-Patches, her daughter-in-law, Dannielle Jackson and son-in-law, David Lees.
