Obituary of Nicholas Gaetano Piccolo

Nicholas Gaetano Piccolo, lovingly known as “Nico,” went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2026, at the age of 30.

Nico resided in Anderson, South Carolina, and grew up primarily in Suffield, Connecticut. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by his loving family: his father, Guy Piccolo of Glastonbury, Connecticut; his mother, Diane Mileskie of Anderson, South Carolina; his sisters, Taylor Piccolo of Rehoboth, Massachusetts, and Danielle Piccolo of Suffield, Connecticut; and his stepfather, Steven Mileskie of Anderson, South Carolina.

He is also survived by his two loving grandmothers, Theresa Piccolo of Fort Myers, Florida, and Betty Arcand of East Hartford, Connecticut, as well as many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, neighbors, and classmates.

Nico was the center of his family’s lives. Though he faced disability, his impact on the world was immeasurable. His sweet smile, gentle spirit, and loving disposition were recognized by everyone blessed to meet him. Nico loved going for walks in his wheelchair, taking countless trips to Disney, enjoying his favorite foods, and spending precious time with his family. His beloved service dog, Sparky, was his constant companion, often sitting on Nico’s lap or snuggling beside him in bed.

To imagine the sweetest, most loving, affectionate, and life-changing person in the world is easy for those who had the honor of knowing Nico. Close your eyes, and Nico comes to mind.

Our hearts are broken by his passing, but we are eternally grateful that our Savior, Jesus Christ, has lifted him into eternal life. Nico leaves behind the most beautiful and life-changing reminder of how precious the gift of life truly is. Nicholas Gaetano Piccolo will forever live in our hearts and minds, and we are eternally grateful to God for giving us the opportunity to experience life with a true angel.
