Obituary of William G. Wilcox

William (Bill) Gary Wilcox passed away peacefully at St. Francis Hospital on June 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Hartford, CT on October 1, 1949.

Over his 76 years, Bill touched countless lives with his generosity, kindness, and warm sense of humor. He had a remarkable way of bringing joy to others, offering comfort, laughter, and a steady presence to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

For more than 30 years, Bill practiced dentistry, but to him, it was never just a profession—it was about the people. He had a natural ability to put others at ease, greeting each person with genuine warmth and sincerity. Patients became friends, and over time, those relationships became an enduring and meaningful part of his life.

At the heart of everything Bill did was his family. He lived by the simple belief that “if some is good, more is better,” a philosophy he carried into the love of those most important to him.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Diane (Dede); his brother, Herb; his children, William (Billy) and Amy and her husband, Matthew; and his grandchildren, Ava, Haylie, and Taylor, all of whom brought him immense joy.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on July 6, 2026, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 915 Main Street, South Glastonbury, CT 06073, He will be laid to rest privately by his family at Cypress Cemetery in Old Saybrook, CT.

In lieu of flowers, Bill wished for donations to be made in his name to a college fund benefiting his grandchildren. Contributions may be made at https://go.fidelity.com/Hv2Xcn. For online condolences, please visit www.mulryanfh.com.

Bill will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his kindness, his gentle spirit, and the love he gave without measure. His legacy lives on in his family and in the many lives he brightened.
