Obituary of Elizabeth A. Majerski

Elizabeth A. “Betty” Majerski, 93, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and wife of 53 years to the late Richard A. Majerski, Sr, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Betty was born in Hartford, the seventh child of nine children to the late Anthony and Rose (Dellasander) Gesuelle. Betty began her married life in the south end of Hartford until the mid-seventies, when the family moved to Glastonbury and lived for the next 34 years. After her retirement from Quality Name Plate Inc in Glastonbury, Betty and her husband split their time between their homes on Lake Williams in Lebanon and in Delray Beach, Florida. After her husband passed, she moved to East Hartford where she resided in the home of her son, Richard Majerski, Jr., until his heartbreaking, early passing. As a young girl, Betty worked alongside her father in the family garden which led to a lifelong passion for gardening, growing beautiful flowers and vegetables. Betty had a true green thumb. She was an excellent cook and baker of Italian cookies, which were a shared treat during the holidays. Betty enjoyed classic movies and could recite all the details of the plot, characters, and actors. She liked dancing to anything from big band swing to disco with her husband, brothers and sisters. Betty had a certain flair for imparting wisdom and added a certain sparkle to a room. She will be sorely missed. Betty is survived by her daughters, Deborah McMahon (Michael) of Glastonbury and Deanna Lorenz (John) of Canton, GA; son, Raymond Majerski of Manchester; grandsons, Ryan McMahon of West Simsbury, and Jonathan McMahon of Chicago, IL; great-grandson, David McMahon of Chicago, IL; brothers Anthony Gesuele of Delray Beach, FL and Thomas Gesuelle of Manchester; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant son; her husband, Richard; her son, Richard Majerski, Jr.; sisters, Margaret, Rose, Sylvia, Virginia; brothers, Samuel & Joseph. The family extends its gratitude to the caregivers at Masonicare at Greenridge Place in Rocky Hill and to Vernon Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for their compassionate support. A Mass of Christian of burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 10:00 am at St Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Rd, Glastonbury. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17 Wickham Rd, Glastonbury.
