We met sweet Marcky at Boston (Mass General) in Nov/Dec 2024 during radiation treatment. We were there for my daughter Isabella's treatment as well.
We connected with Amanda the very first time we talked in the play area while both kids were playing. I remember Marcky being incredibly bright, smart, and sassy. He had such an amazing way of speaking and a vocabulary that seemed so advanced to me! I asked his age and couldn't believe it. He was only 3 and had just turned 3 a couple of months earlier!
His speech was amazing. Truly amazing. What a delight of a boy! I absolutely loved listening to him talk and talk and talk to everyone, the nurses, the staff, and everyone around him. He was so happy, incredibly smart, and such a beautiful boy.
I regret not having taken a picture together.
Amanda, I have not stopped thinking of you and your family since then. Always praying, always in our hearts. It feels like we're all connected somehow.
We send you all our love, we continue praying for comfort, we believe that Marcky is in heaven, free of pain, happy and running.
We love you.

Amanda and family, you are the strongest person I know. Marcky was the first ETMR child we ever met in person, and Luna and Jasper were so excited to meet him and become his friends. Luna was also looking forward to becoming friends with Nina. Words cannot express how heartbroken we are over the loss of Marcky. I truly believe he is in heaven now, the cutest little turtle of them all, finally free from pain and suffering. We will always remember his sweet smile and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him. Sending all our love to your family.

I didn’t have the pleasure of getting to know Marcky but my family got to bear witness to his kind heart. He bought a cat stuffed animal for my son who is also fighting ETMR while they were both in the hospital. My son Finn sleeps with this stuffed animal every night and I think of Marcky everyday because of it. We are incredibly heartbroken. Our hearts are with the Foster family and all of those that are grieving the loss of this precious boy.
