Obituary of Marcky Foster

Born on August 4, 2021, our beloved Marc Joseph Foster, Jr. ("Marcky") gained his angel wings and made his way to Heaven on June 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with ETMR Cancer. A fighter through and through, Marcky made sure to give his loving father one last Father's Day together before saying goodbye.

Though his time on earth was far too short, Marcky filled every day with laughter, strength, and determination. At just four years old, he taught everyone around him what courage truly looks like. He faced every challenge with a brave spirit and a strength that inspired all who knew him.

Marcky leaves behind his devoted parents, Amanda and Marc Foster, who spent every day of his journey by his side, loving him fiercely, advocating for him tirelessly, and making every moment count. He also leaves behind his siblings, Nina and Jack, who brought him joy and were loved by him just as deeply, and his pups Bergy and Macky, whom he loved beyond words.

He is survived by his "army": his great-grandfather, Henry Tillotson ("Pop") (Crystal VanAllen); his grandparents, Michael ("Grampy") and Amy Ciarcia ("Mimi"), Dawn Foster (“Grandma”) (Mark Kehrhahn), and Carl Foster ("Papa") (Liz Downing); his aunts and uncles, Jason Foster and Mary Cerio, Amy and Jesse Carabase, Abby Ciarcia and Shane Johnson, Kate and Joe Hoerner, Paul Ciarcia (“Uncle P.”), and Julia Ciarcia (his treasured “Auntie J”) and Nick Portal; and his cousins Jesse, Sophia, Niko, Otto, Lincoln, Sebby, Sofia, and Maverick. Marcky shared an especially deep bond with his cousin Sophia, whose love for him was immeasurable. He also leaves behind countless extended family members, friends, caregivers, and supporters whose lives were forever changed by knowing him.

Marcky had a personality larger than life. He loved the color purple, dinosaurs, snakes, dancing to "Sweet Caroline", Magna-Tiles, Super Mario Brothers, Bluey, and Bass Fishing Productions on YouTube. He rarely accepted "no" for an answer and somehow always managed to charm his way into getting what he wanted. He was feisty and fearless, stubborn in the best ways, and determined to live life on his own terms. His smile and laugh could brighten the darkest day, and his spirit touched the hearts of everyone he met.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the extraordinary doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Connecticut Children's Medical Center, Mass General Hospital, and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. Their compassion, dedication, and support meant more than words can express throughout Marcky's journey. Because of them, Marcky’s family had almost two difficult but love-filled years with him after the initial diagnosis.

While our hearts are broken by his absence, we find comfort in knowing that Marcky is free from pain, running, playing, and smiling once again. You're a turtle now, sweet boy.

Marcky's life reminds us to be kind, to appreciate every blessing, and to hold our loved ones close. His legacy of strength and resilience will live on in all who knew and loved him.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 26, from 3:00PM to 5:30PM  with a memorial service at 5:30 in Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury, Connecticut.
