Obituary of Polly Swain Owen

Polly Owen of Glastonbury CT died of ALS on July 3.  The daughter of June and Frank Owen,  she was a longtime resident of Glastonbury and worked for many years at the Connecticut Department of Motor vehicles until her retirement in 2020. 

Polly attended Curry College and Boston College.  She was a talented needle-pointer and knitter and often carried a canvas bag full of projects to be worked on should a free moment allow.  She had a particular interest in history and enjoyed listening to books on tape while she completed her projects.  She had an independent spirit and took long walks enjoying nature throughout Glastonbury.

She leaves behind her father, Frank Owen; her sister, Jody Harris of Belvedere, CA; a niece Caroline Barton and Great nephew and niece, Owen and Adeline of Orinda CA; and Aunts Jean Heinig of New York City and Marcia Legru of Marlborough, New Hampshire.   Her mother June Owen died in 2023.
