Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Bundock

Elizabeth (McConnell) Bundock, 80, the beloved wife of Henry Bundock, Jr., passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at Manchester Memorial Hospital following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Born in Meriden, CT, on September 16, 1945, Elizabeth was the cherished daughter of the late Josephine (Kos) McConnell and William McConnell. She grew up in Meriden, graduating from Maloney High School in 1963 and earning her Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Connecticut State College and two Master’s degrees from Southern Connecticut State College. Elizabeth spent over 30 years working for the State of Connecticut as a visionary Special Education teacher and administrator. She believed in the potential of her students, actively introducing them to higher-profile roles in the community, such as employment at local retail markets. Her profound impact echoed long into her retirement; she was regularly greeted with joyful, loving hugs from former students who recognized her while shopping.

At the center of Elizabeth’s heart was her family. She was married to the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Henry, for 56 wonderful years. Together, they built a beautiful life in Glastonbury, CT rooted in love, laughter, and devotion. Throughout their long and happy marriage, they raised two children and shared countless adventures—taking memorable vacations, attending concerts, cheering on their beloved UCONN basketball teams, attending numerous New York Mets games, and gathering with their circle of friends and family. Elizabeth’s warmth, gentle spirit, and capacity for love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her legacy of love lives on through her family. Elizabeth is survived by her devoted husband, Henry; her loving children, Brian Bundock and Kimberly Ambrosio; her son-in-law, Kenneth Ambrosio; and her grandsons, Nicholas and Evan Ambrosio, who brought her immense joy. She also leaves behind several close cousins and dear friends.

The Bundock family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Manchester Memorial Hospital for the exceptional care and comfort they provided Elizabeth in her final days. They are also deeply grateful to the Glastonbury Volunteer Ambulance Association for their dedication.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 10:00 am in St. Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Rd., Glastonbury. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Elizabeth’s life during calling hours on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury, CT 06033.
