Obituary of Judith E. Cooper

Judith "Judy" Cooper, 85, of Glastonbury, CT passed peacefully on July 28, 2026.  Born on September 18, 1940 in Oceanside, New York.  Judy lived a life defined by warmth, vitality, and an unwavering devotion to the people and dogs she loved. Judy was a woman of remarkable energy and spirit.  An accomplished athlete, she distinguished herself as a talented tennis player and later embraced the sport of pickleball with the same competitive drive. Her athletic achievements extended to long distance running where she completed marathons, a testament to her discipline and determination. Beyond her athletic pursuits, Judy was celebrated as an incredible cook and gracious hostess. She possessed a rare and genuine kindness which made her a beloved friend to all.  She greeted all with a smile. Above all else, Judy treasured her family.  She found her greatest joy in being surrounded by her loved ones, and she held a particularly special place in her heart for her grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable happiness.  Judy is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph Cooper, her son Christopher Cooper (Heather Hauser) her daughter Meredith Ruppert (Bill) and her son Matthew Cooper.  Six Grandchildren Noah (Haley), Lucy, Mackenzie, Emma, Jack and Lindsay. Her sister Joy Irish.  She will be profoundly missed by her extended family and many friends whose lives she touched with her kindness. A funeral service will be held on Saturday August 1, 2026 at 11am in Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Neipsic Cemetery, Glastonbury. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home prior to the service starting at 9am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the CT Humane Society (cthumane.org).
