Obituary of Concettina L. Lombardo
Concettina “Connie” L. Lombardo, 92, of Glastonbury, CT, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving and devoted children. She will be remembered for her remarkable strength, perseverance, and courage, inspiring all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut, on December 8, 1933, Connie was the beloved daughter of the late Michael and Maria Cascone. She graduated from Bulkeley High School in 1952 and married her dear husband, Nootsie, in 1958. In 1967, they moved into the Glastonbury home they built, where Connie created a beautiful life centered around the family she loved most.
Connie’s greatest passions and most cherished roles in life were being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family and took immense pride in their accomplishments. Connie never wanted to miss a celebration, birthday, milestone, tradition, or holiday gathering, with Christmas holding a special place in her heart. She especially loved attending sporting events and activities, always cheering with pride.
Those who knew Connie will fondly remember seeing her sitting on her front stoop on a beautiful sunny day, enjoying the simple pleasures of life and the company of those around her. She also treasured the many years spent with loved ones at the family’s former vacation home in Hutchinson Island, Florida, where countless special memories were made.
Connie was best known for her unforgettable personality, warmth, kindness, generosity, and positive spirit, as well as the countless memories, invaluable life lessons, treasured stories, endless laughter, and, above all, the true meaning of love and family.
Connie now joins in eternal rest her beloved husband, Sebastian “Nootsie” Lombardo, and her cherished grandson, Kyle Constantine. She was also predeceased by her parents, Michael and Maria Cascone; her sisters, Lauretta Fazzino and Ernesta Cox; her brothers, Peter and Louis Cascone; and her grandson-in-law, Ryan Baldera.
She is survived by her six beloved children and their spouses: Marie and Steven Dussault of Tariffville; Josephine and Arthur Burtchell of South Windsor; Jean and Matthew Walston of Essex; Frank and Lisa Lombardo of Beaver Cove, Maine; Donna and William Constantine of Glastonbury; and Janet and Christopher Moriarty of Glastonbury.
She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy. Her grandchildren, along with their spouses, fiancés, and children, include Sarah and Dana (Benjamin and Ellie); Erin (Cooper); Andrew; Kelly and Lenny (Logan); Heather and Tyler (Mason); Alexa and Peter (Brooklyn); Taylor and Clark (Madison); Jessica and fiancé Trevor (Hunter); Samantha and Brandon (Riley); Alyssa; Bill and Angela (Cora, Cole, and Caylee); Trevor and Celena (Kash); Brendan; CJ and fiancé Alexia; Mallory; Marissa; Hailey and her step-granddaughters, Haley, Madison and fiance Sampson.
Connie is also survived by her sister-in-law, Julia Lombardo of Wethersfield, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Above all, Connie will be remembered for the love she poured into her family and the joy she found simply being together. To many of her grandchildren, she was lovingly known as "Gma," a name that reflected the special bond they shared. Her greatest gift was the life she built and the people she loved so fiercely.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, in St. Isidore and Maria Parish at St. Paul Church, 2577 Main Street, Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 12, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury.
