Obituary of Patricia A. Connors

Patricia A. (O’Neill) Connors, 73, of Glastonbury, beloved wife of Brian Connors, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Manchester Memorial Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 19, 1953, she was the daughter of the late William and Alyce (Krohley) O’Neill.

Patty graduated from the University of Connecticut summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in secondary education. She began her professional life as an English teacher before embarking on a remarkable 42-year career in the insurance industry. Starting at Hartford Steam Boiler as a policy rater, she rose through the ranks as an underwriter and respected leader, ultimately holding senior roles with Hartford Steam Boiler and AIG before retiring in 2019. Patty was admired for her expertise, loyalty, thoroughness, calm manner, and willingness to mentor generations of younger underwriters.

Patty found great joy in serving God and His children. She loved music and theater, played the violin, and especially cherished laughing with family and friends. She opened her home and her heart to the people she loved and had a beautiful way of making everyone feel welcome, cared for, and loved. A telephone message from Patty rarely ended without the words “love you”—a simple reflection of her warm and generous nature.

Above all, Patty was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved each of her grandchildren beyond measure. Even while facing cancer, her love for her family gave her extraordinary strength. After entering hospice, she rallied and shared six more precious months with her family, allowing her to welcome and meet her third grandchild.

Patty instilled in her family the importance of striving each day to be helpful, honest, cheerful, and trustworthy. She is profoundly missed, and those who loved her will honor her life by carrying those values forward and striving to be the best versions of themselves.

Patty is survived by her beloved husband, Brian Connors; her son, Neil Connors, and his wife, Allison; her daughter, Bridget Connors, and her wife, Jill Carruthers; and her three cherished grandchildren, Glenn, Barrett, and Finnian. She is also survived by her brother William O’Neill, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 25, at 10 a.m. at St. Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Road, Glastonbury. Burial will follow at St. Bridget Cemetery in Manchester. Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 24, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury.
