Obituary of Elizabeth F. Bartone

Elizabeth (Falleti) Bartone, 90, of South Glastonbury, beloved wife of the late Dominic Bartone, died Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the Salmon Brook Center. She was born on November 5, 1926 to the late Dominico and Maria Rosina (Pepe) Falleti in Terranova, Italy. Betty graduated from Bulkeley High School class of 1945. She had lived in South Glastonbury since 1954. She was a cummunicant of St. Augustine Church, South Glastonbury, and served on the Altar Guild for many years. Growing up she enjoyed spending summers at Soundview Beach on the Connecticut Shore. One of her fondest memories was skipping school with her friend to see Frank Sinatra perform at The Bushnell in Hartford. They waited at the back door to meet him and when he came out he told them to “ stay in school”. Betty enjoyed oil painting, tai chi and going to the movies with her friends. Betty and Dominic enjoyed entertaining family and friends and were known for throwing large 4th of July parties as well as the annual Christmas Tree party complete with tractor rides through their property to hand pick your own fresh tree. She is survived by her daughter Deryl Haskard and her husband, John, of Fairfield, her daughter-in-Law Kathleen Bartone, of South Glastonbury, and her Grandchildren, Danielle (David) Ascione of Cockeysville, MD, Nicholas Haskard of East Boston, MA, Erin (Jason) Goodhue of Glastonbury, Dr. Michael Bartone of South Glastonbury, and Kate (Bob) Cesana of South Glastonbury. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Matthew Bellavance, Trevor Goodhue, Ellory Goodhue, Macey Goodhue, Dominic Ascione, Dominic Cesana Carter Goodhue, Camden Cesana and Sisley Ascione, her brother-in-law Pat (Sybil) Bartone of Manchester, her sister-in-law Margaret Ward of Cromwell, and her cousin Natina Falleti of East Hartford. She was predeceased by a son Douglas Bartone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 10 at 10am in St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Rd., South Glastonbury. Burial will follow in the Green Cemetery, Glastonbury. Calling hours will be held Sunday, April 9 from 2 to 4pm at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury.
