Obituary of Richard S. Hegwood

Richard S. Hegwood, 58, of Glastonbury, husband of Gretchen (Kozak) Hegwood, passed peacefully Friday, June 30, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born March 17, 1959 in Oak Park, IL, son of the late Raleigh G. and Janet (Henniger) Hegwood, he had lived in Glastonbury for the past 29 years. Rick was an avid golfer, a Huskies fanatic and a wonderful cook. When he wasn’t at the country club or taking in a game at ‘the Rent’, he could often be found reading, catching his daughter’s swim meet, or bantering about soccer with his son. Besides his wife he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Colin S. and Kerri A. (Duggan) Hegwood, a daughter Katherine G. Hegwood, two brothers and their wives, Steven and Rebecca Hegwood and James and Celia Hegwood, and extended family. Friends and family may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 4:30 – 6:30 pm.
