John R. Korwin, 92, of Glastonbury, passed into eternal life and predeceased his loving wife of 42 years, Marjorie Josephine Korwin ( Keefe ), John passed away peacefully at Manchester Memorial Hospital surrounded by family on January 03, 2018.  He was born February 18, 1925 in Hartford, Connecticut, to the son of late Albert Kosovsky and Lillian ( Webber ) of Hartford.

John served as a sergeant in the United States Air Force after World War II as an Air Policeman.  After his honorable discharge John was proud to join the Connecticut State Police as a State Trooper.  His duties included photographer, young adult education trainer and Communications Director for which he received many accolades.  After his retirement from the department he owned his own commercial real estate business which give him the opportunity to do his favorite pastime, have conversations with everyone he met.  John belonged to the Governors Foot Guard and participated in many official ceremonies and would teach his beloved sons about horses and riding.  He was elected to sit on the Board of the Connecticut State Police Academy where he served for years as civilian over-site and council.  John enjoyed tennis, aerobics and jogging throughout his life and ran road races in Glastonbury and Manchester well into his 80’s.  John was a devoted, loving husband that looked over Josephine, he was a friend that will be truly missed.

John leaves behind to cherish his memory, three loving sons, Kim Keefe Sadlon and his wife Camille and Dennis Jay Sadlon both of Glastonbury, Kurt Steven Sadlon and his wife Lisa of New Palestine, Indiana.  Grandchildren Laura, Patrick, Megan, Joshua and Katie Sadlon.  John was predeceased by his brother Melvin Kosovsky and sister Jeanette ( Jaffe ) Lantz.  We appreciate and thank the special care-givers for their kindness.  Thanks to the Glastonbury Police Department and Glastonbury Volunteer Ambulance Service for their support and kindness.

John will be buried this spring next to his wife and love of his life, Josephine, at the Old Hebron Cemetery, behind St Peter’s Episcopal Church in Hebron.  In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s and Josephine’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, CT Chapter, 200 Executive Boulevard, Suite 4B Southington, CT 06489-1058.
